Abstract:  This paper has discussed the American cultural characteristics, and concluded three main values as well as explained how they formed from a history development Angle, and how they showed in the real life. It focuses on the United States and studies the reflection of freedom, independence, and braveness in the life of the United States, involving Americans’ communication, life style, catering culture and community life, entertainment, adventure and so on. From these aspects we can better understand the United States, Americans and the American culture.

摘 要：本文通过对美国文化特征的探讨，得出三个主要的价值观并从历史发展角度说明它们是如何形成，在生活中是如何表现出来的。以美国为主，研究自由、独立、勇敢在美国生活中的表现，涉及到美国人的交往、生活方式、餐饮文化、社区生活、娱乐、探险方式等等，从这些方面更好地了解美国、美国人以及美国的文化。
