Abstract

This dissertation takes Jane Eyre produced by Charlotte Bronte who is the representative of authoress in nineteenth century England as the research material. Jane Eyre is a classic literary image in the history of world literature. She is a woman who has indomitable spirit and pursues the equality of status. She always reveals self-confidence and independence when she suffers from miserable experiences and unfair society. Finally she gets the love what she has longed for during her life and enjoys a peaceful and happy life with Mr.Rochester. This dissertation mainly analyzes the last part of Jane Eyre. It begins with the background of Charlotte Bronte, and then analyzes Jane Eyre’s pursuit of true love, the feminism in Jane Eyre and the equality of social classes between Jane Eyre and Rochester. It also analyzes the causes from rebellious spirit and independence of Jane Eyre, miserable family background and educational experience in Jane Eyre’s life, having the intention of discussing Jane’s temperament as well as her experience which exert the influence and constructive role in her ending.
