Abstract

With the rapid development of society, the exchange between countries is very close, then the country between the cultural comparison and blending is also very necessary. Among them, the difference between Chinese and Western festivals has been the subject of the study of scientists. 

This dissertation has carried on detailed comparative analysis from many aspect, that is, the origin and development of Chinese and Western festival culture, difference in festival diet and festival customs. It is also summarizes commonality and differences in these aspect and find out the reasons. The purpose of analysis the comparison of Chinese and western traditional festival is to promote the traditional Chinese festivals at the same time, learn from and use the essence of some Western festivals. So that people respect our traditional culture, carry forward our culture.
