Abstract

In the 21th century, globalization has become an inevitable trend around the world. Under this background, study on the cultural exchanges between countries is becoming more important in English language and literature learning. The Good Earth, written by a foreigner, is a work introducing Chinese traditional culture. In this thesis, the author tries to study various traditional culture elements about China in the book by summarizing the themes, analyzing characters and introducing customs to reveal the image of China in the eyes of foreigners. In this way, we can promote further the inter-cultural communication.
