Abstract

Since the release of movie The Twilight Saga and TV series The Vampire Diaries, vampire has become one of the most popular themes in Hollywood. These works overturn traditional image of vampire in previous literary output and vampire movies. They describe vampire as handsome and polite rather than cruel and heartless. From a certain perspective, people’s desire are changing with time passing by. They no longer desire for irritative and horror feeling but for attractive outlook and human-related love of humanized vampires. These works expressed the theme of people’s awareness of the society, the reality and human’s fate and the theme of vampire’s cultural connotations. 

    This is an analysis on vampires in modern society and popular culture, focusing on the characteristics, love pattern and inside struggle, which is aimed to make more people have a better understanding of vampire.
