Abstract

Under the background of global integration, with the increasingly frequent cultural exchanges between China and the world, many colleges and universities in Jinan have established the English website in the need of external propaganda and cultural exchange, having achieved good propaganda results. But at the same time, there are many problems, like Chinglish, cultural differences and statistics errors, these problems affect the image of colleges and universities. All of these problems need to be put a lot of efforts to work on. Therefore, the analysis and research of the status of university website translation has become a real urgent task and need to be done in no time. So, this paper uses the case analysis method, literature method and Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory to study and analyze the overall translation status of English websites of universities and colleges in Jinan, and problems like language structure, translation theory, problems and suggestions, solutions, etc will be discussed in the following paragraphs. And this thesisr is to improve the standardization of English websites of universities and colleges in Jinan, and to promote international exchange and cooperation, so that the college website translation can integrate with international English communication materials and accomplish good international communication effect.
