Abstract: Internet changes every aspect of our lives including language. It generates a new language variety: netspeak. As a rudimentary part, vocabulary plays an important role in language. Cyber-neologism vividly reflects the characteristics of this era. This paper analyzes the word formation rules and semantic features of cyber-neologism, and attempt to explore various factors to production of cyber-neologism. This paper aims to gain a better understanding of cyber-neologisms and language changes.
