Abstract

Toni Morrison is one of the most outstanding and influential contemporary African American writers. She expresses her deep thought on the existence of the whole black race in most of her works by depicting the African Americans’ life with her exquisite narrative skills and artistic features. This paper is mainly an analysis of the artistic features in Morrison’s novel Home from three aspects: detail description, fragmented writing, and rhetorical device. Studying the artistic features in Home can help the readers to have a better comprehension of its theme and learn proper writing skills by the way.
