Abstract

This thesis first describes the three marriages of Scarlett, then combines the examples to analyze the character of Scarlett's character. The result of the analysis shows that although Scarlett's character still has many immature part, some of her actions looks very extreme, but she is always brave to face reality, to resolve the problem, she has never been defeated by any difficulties, always knows what she wants, and get everything she wants by hook or by crook. She is an unconquerable and courageous person. But Scarlett is not perfect, and her attitude to marriage is not worth following. She does not care marrying a man she doesn't like, only desiring to solve the problem of her life. She doesn't understand what love and marriage mean, and she only regards her marriage as a tool, a game, which is absolutely not advisable.
